The Lagos State Police Command on Monday said it will not allow any #EndSARS anniversary protest in the state.
Recall that the #EndSARS protests which rocked Nigeria last year took place in October.
But the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, in a statement on Monday said credible intelligence revealed that some youths were planning protests on Monday in commemoration of one year anniversary of #ENDSARS.
Ajisebutu said, “In view of the volatility of the present situations in the country, and the breakdown of law and order which the planned protest might cause, the Lagos State Police Command sternly warns against any form of protest today Monday).
“To forestall breakdown of law and order, the police will use all legitimate means within its constitutional powers to suppress the protest.
“The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, assures all law-abiding residents of the state to go about their legitimate business without fear of harassment or intimidation.”
Meanwhile, no #EndSARS protest was recorded on Monday in the state.
